Israeli settlers threw stones at Palestinian vehicles traveling near al-Lubban ash-Sharqiya. Israeli forces shot and injured 1 Palestinian man with a baton round during a late-night raid in Tulkarm refugee camp. Israeli forces also raided Arrabah, causing tear-gas related injuries. A boat carrying nearly 2 dozen active and retired intelligence officers from Italy and Israel’s Mossad capsized on Lake Maggiore in Italy, resulting in the death of 1 former Mossad agent, 2 Italian intelligence officers, and a Russian woman. It was reported that the remaining Israeli intelligence officers left the country on a military flight without returning their rental cars. It was also reported that at least 10 Mossad agents were on the boat when it capsized and that the gathering was a birthday celebration. Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and coalition partner Benny Gantz of Israel Resilience agreed to terms of a unity government, including splitting the 4-year term as prime minister with Netanyahu serving the first half and Gantz serving as deputy prime minister and defense minister; decisions on annexation of the entirety or parts of the West Bank to start after 7/1, and Gantz will not have a veto in the decision; and Netanyahu can veto appointments for attorney general and state prosecutor, both positions involved in Netanyahu’s upcoming trial. After 10 yrs. of federal investigations trying to link him to terrorism, U.S. authorities arrest Palestinian-born U.S. permanent resident Sami al-Arian, a fmr. University of South Florida professor, on charges of fundraising for Islamic Jihad, and “conspiracy to commit murder via suicide attacks.” Another 7 individuals are also charged, several of whom are abroad, including Damascus-based Islamic Jihad head Ramadan Shallah.
