Mohammad Dahlan, a political rival of PA president Mahmoud Abbas, said the UAE would send another 40,000 doses of the Sputnik V vaccine to Gaza. PA prime minister Mohammad Shtayyeh said that the PA would not trade Israeli-withheld PA tax revenue for political concessions, saying “[t]he question of Palestine is not that of money, but of rights, dignity and freedom.” (WAFA 6/5)

In a ruling that could affect some 700 Palestinians living in East Jerusalem, a Jerusalem court ruled in favor of a Jewish settler organization evicting a Palestinian family on property that was owned by Jews prior to 1938. 700 Palestinians live in Batn al-Hawa, which was owned by a Jewish property trust before 1938 when British Mandate authorities evicted the Jewish residents. Israeli law allows Jews to “reclaim” property in East Jerusalem but does not allow Palestinians to do so in Israel. (HA, WAFA 1/20; JPOST 1/21)

Top Muslim figures, including the mufti of Jerusalem, Mohammed Hussein, certify that the situation at the sanctuary has returned to what it was prior to the attack, and call on Muslims to resume prayers at the sanctuary. They then meet with PA pres. Abbas, who says that the Palestinian leadership will continue discussing the situation before he makes a decision on resuming contacts with Israel.
