Tulkarm, and al- ‘Arub r.c. nr. Hebron, arresting 2 Palestinians. Israeli settlers take over 10 dunams (around 2.5 acres) of land nr. Nablus, planting grapevines on the land. U.S. Secy. of State Kerry tells the Munich Security Conference that any alternatives to a comprehensive Israeli-Palestinian agreement are unacceptable. Kerry also says that failure is risky for Israel, and observes that “people are talking about boycott.” In response, Israeli economy and trade minister Naftali Bennett says that Israel would never submit to economic threats. With the passage of the 2d deadline for the voluntary evacuation of 10 West Bank settlement enclaves, Israel announces that the IDF will forcibly evacuate the remaining occupied outpost, Havat Maon. Over the past few days, some 300 ultranationalist settlers have joined the 4 families originally encamped at the site, set up prefabricated houses in protest, hoping to make it impossible for the government to remove the settlement.
