In the West Bank, Israeli forces handed notices informing residents that Israel will confiscate 13 dunams (3.2 acres) of land in Hizma. Israeli forces also confiscated 25,000 NIS ($7,000) during a raid in Bayt Furik. 16 Palestinians were arrested during raids in and around Abu Dis, al-Bireh, Dheisheh refugee camp, Kafr Malik, Birzeit, ‘Azun, al-Khadir, Nablus, Hebron, and Dura, including 6 members of the same family during a house raid in Hebron. In East Jerusalem, Israeli settlers with police escort moved into 16 apartments in Silwan that had been sold to the settler organization Ateret Cohanim. Israeli forces banned a children’s event in the Old City, claiming it was funded by the PA. Israel said it would not cooperate with the ICC investigation into alleged war crimes committed in the occupied Palestinian territory after 2 days of meetings between Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi, and Defense Minister Benny Gantz. Israel said that its rejection is based on its belief that the ICC does not have jurisdiction over the occupied territory, since it argues that the PA is not a state and Israel is not a party to the ICC. U.S. president Donald Trump aide Kellyanne Conway told reporters that President Trump will have “a big announcement” about the U.S. position on Israeli annexation of parts of the West Bank after White House officials met for a 2d day in a row to discuss the issue. The Israeli supreme court ruled in favor of the settlement group Ateret Cohanim’s acquisition of 3 buildings in the Christian quarter of the Old City in East Jerusalem belonging to the Greek Orthodox church. The ruling ended a 14-year-long legal battle that started when church officials sold the buildings without the knowledge of the larger body of church officials, leading to the ousting of the then patriarch. The International Atomic Energy Agency chief Yukiya Amano said that Iran had increased its uranium enrichment. Iran had previously announced that it would start increasing its uranium enrichment if Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action signatories did not uphold their commitments to the agreement. (HA 6/10)

They also forcibly remove several Coptic priests from an entrance to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in the Old City. The priests were holding a sit-in protest against some recent Israel-led restoration work on a contested part of the church. Several of the priests suffer minor injuries. Meanwhile, the Israeli authorities evict a Palestinian family from a 4-story building in Silwan. Human rights organization Middle East Watch issues report on condition of 18,000-20,000 stateless Palestinians in Kuwait. The Palestinians, who were either born in Gaza during the British Mandate, during the period of Egyptian administration of Gaza (1948-67), or who are descendants of those born there, have lived in Kuwait for decades but do not hold citizenship in any country. They do not carry Israeli Gaza identity cards but merely hold Egyptian travel documents, and are thus unable to legally live anywhere. According to the report, Kuwait intends to expel these persons to Iraq 11/15. (MEM 20/24)
