In the West Bank, thousands of Palestinians protested Israel’s deadly raid in Jenin on 1/26 with demonstrations in cities and towns throughout the West Bank and in East Jerusalem. Israeli settlers shot and injured 3 Palestinians near Beita. Israeli forces violently dispersed Palestinian protesters in Beita and Beit Dajan, causing 3 tear-gas related injuries in Beita and 10 in Beit Dajan. Israeli forces also violently dispersed a funeral procession in al-Ram, causing tear-gas related injuries. Elsewhere, Israeli forces issued stop-work orders for 2 homes in Birin. East Jerusalem, 1 Palestinian man shot and killed 7 Israeli settlers and wounded 3 others in the Neve Yaakov settlement before being killed by Israeli police. The Palestinian man was named after his grandfather who was killed by an Israeli settler in 1999. Israeli forces subsequently seized the family home of the Palestinian man and arrested 42 Palestinians in relation to the shooting, including many of the man’s relatives. In Haifa, Israeli police arrested 6 protesters who refused to remove their Palestinian flags during a demonstration against Israel’s raid in Jenin.
