In the West Bank, local officials in Bethlehem declare a general strike to commemorate the Palestinian who succumbed, on 9/3, to injuries sustained in a confrontation with the IDF on 8/9. Meanwhile, residents of the Jerusalem-area Palestinian Bedouin village Jubbet al-Dhib rebuild the makeshift school that the IDF dismantled on 8/22. The IDF raids the school in the evening, violently dispersing the Palestinians building it; there are no serious injuries. Separately, IDF troops arrest 2 Palestinians during late-night raids in Bethlehem and near Hebron, and patrol near Hebron and Ramallah. Israeli settlers throw stones at a Palestinian home in central Hebron, moderately injuring 1 inhabitant. Along Gaza’s border, IDF troops open fire on Palestinian farmland near Khan Yunis, causing no damage.
