In the West Bank, Israeli settlers set fire to Palestinian-owned olive trees, damaging more than 50 in Bayt Fajjar. Israeli settlers also let their sheep graze on Palestinian-owned land and tried to attack the landowners when they went to confront the settlers. 1 Palestinian was arrested at a flying checkpoint near al-Fawar refugee camp. In East Jerusalem, for the 5th night in a row, Palestinians protested the Israeli-imposed restrictions on the Old City during the month of Ramadan; 9 were reported injured by Israeli forces and 1 arrested. Israeli forces also arrested 4 Palestinian candidates for the Palestinian legislative elections as they were on their way to hold a press conference in the Old City; 2 of the candidates were from Fatah and 1 from Fida (Palestinian Democratic Union). Off the coast of Gaza, Israeli naval forces opened fire at Palestinian fishermen within 3 nautical miles, on 2 different occasions, west of Bayt Lahiya; no injuries were reported.
