In the West Bank, Israeli settlers throw stones at Palestinian vehicles traveling near al-Funduq, injuring a woman. Israeli forces also shoot and injure a Palestinian man at the Jalama checkpoint. Israeli forces seize an excavator in Yatma. In Gaza, Israeli forces bomb al-Mawasi refugee camp, Shati’ refugee camp, Dayr al-Balah, Gaza City, and Nuseirat refugee camp, killing at least 61 people (not including the death toll from the al-Mawasi massacre). Airstrikes kill more than 90 people in al-Mawasi, which Israel has designated a safe-zone, and 22 attending noon prayers in Shati’ refugee camp. Israel claimed to have targeted and possibly killed Hamas military leader Mohammed Deif in the attack on al-Mawasi. In Lebanon, Israeli forces bomb al-Khardali, killing 2 people, including Amal Movement member Musa Muhammad Suleiman. Hezbollah forces fire rockets at Kiryat Shmona, injuring 4 Israeli soldiers. More than 38,443 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces in Gaza, including at least 16,054 children and 10,700 women, and around 88,481 have been injured since 10/7/2023. At least 10,000 people are missing in rubble. 568 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces and settlers in the West Bank and East Jerusalem since 10/7/2023, including 134 children. More than 5,420 people have been injured. Israel reports that 1,139 Israelis and foreign nationals have been killed and 5,400 have been injured in Israel since 10/7/2023, including Israeli soldiers. In addition, 326 Israeli soldiers have been killed and 2,122 injured in Gaza since the ground invasion began on 10/27/2023. Over 1.93 million Palestinians, nearly 85% of the population of Gaza, have been displaced since 10/7/2023. There has been a complete electricity blackout in Gaza since 10/12/2023 due to the Israeli blockade. At least 79,000 housing units have been destroyed and 370,000 have been damaged in Israeli airstrikes since 10/7/2023. PA president Mahmoud Abbas condemns the Israeli attack on al-Mawasi, saying that the U.S. holds responsibility by providing “all kinds of support to the occupation and its crimes.” Abbas also blames Hamas for providing Israel the pretext to attack Gaza. Hamas calls on Abbas to withdraw his comments comparing Hamas and Israel. Hamas also says that Israel failed to assassinate Mohammed Deif in its attack and calls on Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem to mobilize against the occupation. UN secretary-general Antonio Guterres, the UAE, Oman, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Iran, the GCC, the OIC, France, Malaysia, Colombia, and Brazil condemn the Israeli attack on al-Mawasi. Oman calls the attack “an explicit act of terrorism” and Turkey says the strike is part of Israel’s plan to annihilate Palestinians. EU high commissioner for foreign affairs Josep Borrell calls for “access to independent investigations and accountability.” Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu says in a press conference that the assassination attempt on Deif sends a message that Hamas’s “days are numbered” and reiterates that in the ceasefire negotiations Israel reserves the “right” to continue attacking Gaza. The Palestinian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities calls on UNESCO to intervene to prevent Israel from having its Antiquities Authority operate in the West Bank.
