In the West Bank, Israeli forces raid Qabatiya, killing 3 Palestinians, injuring another, and firing an RPG at a home, causing severe damage. Israeli forces also shoot and injure a Palestinian man and damage property during a raid in Jenin. Elsewhere, Israeli forces demolish a home in Umm Qissa in the Masafer Yatta area. Israeli forces also seize a concrete pump in Aqabah. Meanwhile, Israeli forces arrest 12 Palestinians during late-night raids in and around Hebron, Nablus, Salfit, Qalqilya, and Jenin. In Gaza, Israeli forces bomb Nuseirat refugee camp, Gaza City, Shati’ refugee camp, and Rafah, killing at least 30 people. In Lebanon, Israeli forces bomb Jennata, Ayta ash Shab, and Aynata, killing 2 people and injuring 15 others in Jannata. Israeli forces also use a trebuchet to catapult fireballs at Lebanon. Hezbollah says it forces fired 30 rockets at 9 Israeli military sites. In the Arabian Sea, Houthi forces fire missiles at a vessel, injuring a person and causing damage. More than 37,232 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces in Gaza, including at least 15,694 children and 10,000 women, and around 85,037 have been injured since 10/7/2023. At least 10,000 people are missing in rubble, including 1,700 children. 540 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces and settlers in the West Bank and East Jerusalem since 10/7/2023, including 128 children. More than 5,200 people have been injured. Israel reports that 1,139 Israelis and foreign nationals have been killed and 5,400 have been injured in Israel since 10/7/2023, including Israeli soldiers. In addition, 299 Israeli soldiers have been killed and 1,908 injured in Gaza since the ground invasion began on 10/27/2023. Over 1.93 million Palestinians, nearly 85% of the population of Gaza, have been displaced since 10/7/2023. There has been a complete electricity blackout in Gaza since 10/12/2023 due to the Israeli blockade. Israeli finance minister Bezalel Smotrich signs an order to distribute $35 million from the PA’s tax revenue to Israeli families that have lost members in attacks by Palestinians. U.S. State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller calls the decision “wrongheaded” and “not appropriate,” saying the funds belong to the Palestinian people and should be transferred to the PA immediately. Axios reports that Secretary of State Antony Blinken pressured Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to release the tax revenue during a meeting on 6/10 due to concerns that the PA could soon collapse. EU high commissioner for foreign affairs Josep Borrell says the “weakening of the Palestinian Authority has to stop.” Israeli police commissioner Kobi Shabtai says that National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir bypassed him to end police protection of aid trucks going to Gaza. PA prime minister Mohammad Mustafa says at the sixth EU-Palestine Investment Platform meeting that the PA is preparing for post-war rehabilitation of Gaza and for the PA to assume governance of the area. French president Emmanuel Macron says France, the U.S., and Israel have agreed to work together to reduce tensions between Israel and Hezbollah. Israeli defense minister Yoav Gallant rejects that there is an agreement between the 3 countries and says Israel will not take part in the French initiative, calling French policies toward Israel hostile. U.S. president Joe Biden claims that the reason a ceasefire has not been reached is because Hamas refuses to sign the ceasefire proposal “even though they have submitted something similar.” (AJ 6/13)

The UK Labour Party pledges in its election manifesto that it will recognize the State of Palestine “as a contribution to a renewed peace process” if the party wins the upcoming election. Polls suggest that Labour will win the election in a landslide. (AJ, HA, HA 6/13)
