Israeli finance minister Bezalel Smotrich signs an order to distribute $35 million from the PA’s tax revenue to Israeli families that have lost members in attacks by Palestinians. U.S. State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller calls the decision “wrongheaded” and “not appropriate,” saying the funds belong to the Palestinian people and should be transferred to the PA immediately. Axios reports that Secretary of State Antony Blinken pressured Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to release the tax revenue during a meeting on 6/10 due to concerns that the PA could soon collapse. PA prime minister Mohammad Mustafa says at the sixth EU-Palestine Investment Platform meeting that the PA is preparing for post-war rehabilitation of Gaza and for the PA to assume governance of the area.
