In the West Bank, Israeli forces continue large-scale raids in the Jenin governorate for the fifth day in a row, forcing Palestinians to evacuate their homes in Jenin refugee camp in the area surrounding the Abdullah Azzam Mosque. Israeli forces shoot and kill 2 Palestinians in Kafr Dan. Israeli forces also shoot and injure 2 Palestinians in Jenin refugee camp. Meanwhile, Israeli forces set fire to a vegetable market in Jenin and demolish a home with explosives and issue a punitive demolition notice for a home in Jenin refugee camp. At least 16 Palestinians have been killed during the raids in Jenin since 8/28. Separately from the attacks in the Jenin governorate, Israeli forces shoot and kill a Palestinian man in Hebron. Israeli forces shoot and injure a Palestinian man near Beit Ula. Elsewhere, Israeli forces assault Palestinians during a raid in Bani Naim. Israeli forces also issue stop work notices for 5 homes in al-Zawiya. Meanwhile, Israeli forces arrest 36 Palestinians during raids. Israeli settlers throw stones at Palestinian vehicles traveling near Tuqu’. Israeli settlers also cut down trees and destroy crops in al-Farisiya. 3 Israeli soldiers are killed at a checkpoint in Tarqumiyah. A group called Khalil al-Rahman Brigade claims responsibility. In Gaza, Israeli forces bomb Gaza City, Mawasi, Rafah, Khan Yunis, Beit Lahiya, Dayr al-Balah, al-Bureij refugee camp, and Jabalia refugee camp, killing at least 47 people, including 11 at the Safed school hosting displaced people in the eastern part of Gaza City. Israeli forces find 6 Israeli captives in a tunnel. They are reportedly killed shortly before Israeli forces locate them. In Tel Aviv, Israeli forces violently disperse pro-ceasefire demonstrators, arresting 29 people. In Lebanon, Israeli forces bomb Beit Yahoun, Ayta ash Shab, Kafr Kila, Odeisseh, and Khiam, injuring 7 people, including 3 children. Hezbollah forces fire 20 rockets at the Upper Galilee region, injuring 3 in Kfar Yuval. More than 40,738 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces in Gaza, including at least 16,456 children and 11,088 women, and around 94,154 have been injured since 10/7/2023. At least 10,000 people are missing in rubble. 669 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces and settlers in the West Bank and East Jerusalem since 10/7/2023, including 144 children. More than 5,420 people have been injured. Israel reports that 1,139 Israelis and foreign nationals have been killed and 5,400 have been injured in Israel since 10/7/2023, including Israeli soldiers. In addition, 340 Israeli soldiers have been killed and 2,263 injured in Gaza since the ground invasion began on 10/27/2023. Over 1.93 million Palestinians, nearly 85% of the population of Gaza, have been displaced since 10/7/2023. There has been a complete electricity blackout in Gaza since 10/12/2023 due to the Israeli blockade. At least 79,000 housing units have been destroyed and 370,000 have been damaged in Israeli airstrikes since 10/7/2023. 72,611 Palestinian children in Gaza are vaccinated against the poliovirus on the first day of the vaccination campaign. Hamas says Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu chose to maintain an Israeli occupation in the Philadelphi Corridor over getting Israeli captives back alive. The statement says the 6 captives found by Israeli forces earlier today would have been released in the first phase of the ceasefire deal. U.S. vice president Kamala Harris calls Hamas an “evil terrorist organization” and says, “Hamas cannot control Gaza.” (AJ, HA 9/1)

Israel Hayom reports that Mossad director David Barnea said that an Israeli military presence in the Philadelphi and Netzarim corridors is “not operationally necessary.” Separately, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant calls on the Security Cabinet to reverse its decision to keep soldiers at the Philadelphi Corridor.
