After meeting with Egyptian intelligence officials in Gaza, the various political factions in Gaza agree to stop launching incendiary kites and balloons into Israel and to stop protesters from setting fire to tires, according to a senior Hamas official. “Friday’s events will be quiet,” adds a member of the Great March of Return organizing committee. The protests on 11/2 are set to proceed no less than 500 meters away from the border fence. Today’s agreement comes amid ongoing Egypt-mediated talks on a possible long-term cease-fire between Hamas and Israel.
