In the West Bank, gunmen opened fire at an Israeli settler car near the Hamra settlement east of Nablus, injuring 1 settler with glass shrapnel. Israeli settlers threw stones at Palestinian farmers in Umm Safa. Israeli settlers also set fire to 20 Palestinian-owned beehives in Khirbet Zanuta. Israeli forces shot and injured 1 Palestinian minor near Silwad. The minor succumbed to his injuries on 8/7. Israeli forces also raided Nablus, injuring 2 Palestinians with live ammunition and 1 with shrapnel; others suffered tear-gas related injuries. Elsewhere, Israeli forces also shot and injured 1 Palestinian with live ammunition during a raid in Zababdeh. Israeli forces also forcefully removed Palestinians and Israeli activists from a Palestinian-owned water well to allow Israeli settlers from a nearby outpost to take over the well near Tuba. Meanwhile, Israeli forces issued a demolition order for 1 Palestinian home in Jiftlik. In East Jerusalem, Israeli settlers toured the Haram al-Sharif compound. The Israeli High Court of Justice dismissed a petition by Palestinian landowners to have the Homesh outpost evacuated to allow the landowners to access their land. The court said that since the outpost’s buildings were moved to Israeli state-owned land earlier this year, they are no longer considered illegal. They did not address the issue of the Palestinians being prevented from accessing their land by the Israeli military because of the permanent Israeli settler presence at Homesh. (HA 8/2; REU 8/3)
