In Amman, unidentified assailants slightly wound 2 Israeli embassy guards enroute to work in a drive-by shooting. Guards fire back, possibly wounding 1 attacker. King Hussein condemns the attack, visits the guards in the hospital. Israel submits official request to the PA for extradition of 36 Palestinians considered "terror suspects." (IGPO 9/22; WT 9/24)

As of today, there are 103 West Bank Palestinians who have been stranded in Gaza since the 9/4 suicide bombings, 44 Gazans stranded in the West Bank. Israel has denied them permission to return to their homes. (PCHR 9/22) (see 8/19)
