Israeli police close off Western ("Wailing") Wall to Jewish worshippers for 1 hour, deny entry to Haram al-Sharif to Muslims btwn. 14 and 40 to prevent Jewish-Muslim clashes during Friday prayers. Prayers take place without incident, but attendance 20,000, as against usual 200,000. 2 Palestinians shot dead during demonstrations at Balata r.c. in Nablus.
