In the West Bank, clashes erupted between Israeli forces and Palestinians when Israeli settlers toured Joseph’s Tomb near Nablus; 1 Palestinian was hospitalized after being hit by a rubber-coated bullet, others suffered tear-gas related injuries. 6 Palestinians were arrested including 5 during late-night raids in Hebron, Taqqua, and al-‘Arub refugee camp; 1 was arrested at a military checkpoint near al-Khadir. Israeli forces delivered a stop-work order for a Palestinian-owned house near Tubas. In East Jerusalem, 15 Palestinians were arrested during late-night raids in Issawiyya. In Gaza, Israeli forces opened fire at agricultural lands east of Khan Yunis; no injuries were reported. Israel notified 6 Palestinians living in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Issawiyya that Israel intends to use a British Mandate-era emergency regulation to place them under nighttime curfew for several months. (HA 12/30)

8 Palestinian and Arab banks signed a memorandum of understanding with the Jerusalem District Electricity Company (JDECO) for a loan to facilitate an end to the power cuts that have affected thousands of Palestinians since 12/15. The Israel Electric Corporation (IEC) began to cut power for several major cities in the West Bank because the JDECO had accumulated too much debt to the IEC due to a fiscal crisis. The JDECO is a Palestinian-owned electricity company that relies on the IEC for supplying power to East Jerusalem and the West Bank. (WAFA 12/29)

In a statement, Hamas’s interior ministry accused the PA of providing information to Israel that aided the Israeli assassination of PIJ commander Baha Abu al-Ata on 11/12. The statement also said that Hamas had arrested a PA intelligence cell which had allegedly collected the information given to Israel. (HA 12/29)

The Israeli security cabinet approved a request made by defense minister Naftali Bennett to withhold $43 million of the PA tax revenue collected by Israel from the PA. According to the defense ministry, the $43 million represents payments transferred from the Israeli government to Israeli families who were victims of Palestinian attacks. The U.S. conducted 3 airstrikes in Syria and Iraq against the Kata’ib Hezbollah militia group, killing 25 and injuring 55. U.S. officials said the attack was in response to the killing of a civilian contractor on 12/27 working for the U.S. at a military base in Iraq, officials also warned that “additional actions” may be taken. According to the Iranian media outlet Fars, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard seized a foreign tanker carrying illegal oil south of Larak Island in the Persian Gulf. The reporting did not indicate the nationality of the ship, but 16 Malaysian crew members were arrested. (HA 12/30; AJ 12/31)

In the West Bank, Israeli forces seized a Palestinian-owned car during a late-night raid in Salfit. Israeli forces and Palestinians clashed at the entrance to al-‘Arub refugee camp, leading to tear-gas related injuries. 2 Palestinians were arrested during the confrontation. Another 5 Palestinians were arrested, including 4 during late-night raids in and around Hebron and 1 at a flying checkpoint near Jenin. In East Jerusalem, Israeli forces seized a Palestinian-owned vehicle in Silwan. In Gaza, Israeli forces made incursions to level land east of Bayt Hanun. In Israel, Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu was rushed offstage during a speech in Ashqelon after a rocket was fired from Gaza; the rocket was intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system. In the West Bank, Israeli forces seized a forklift during a raid in ‘Ayn al-Bayda in the Jordan Valley. In Bayt Umar, Israeli forces and Palestinians clashed after Israeli forces raided the town, leading to tear-gas related injuries. Separately, 2 Palestinians were arrested during a late-night raid in Bayt Umar. In East Jerusalem, 7 Palestinians were arrested, including 1 in Bab al-Rahma at the Haram al-Sharif compound; 1 in his car east of the Old City; and 5 during a raids in Issawiyya and Ras al-Amud. Approximately 80 Israeli settlers toured the Haram al-Sharif compound. In Gaza, Israeli forces opened fire on Palestinian agricultural lands east of al-Bureij; no injuries were reported. In the West Bank, Israeli settlers set fire to 2 Palestinian-owned vehicles and sprayed graffiti on a wall in Far’ata village west of Qalqilya. In Gaza, 45 Palestinians were injured by Israeli forces using live ammunition and rubber-coated bullets at protesters during the 85th weekly Great March of Return protest. Israeli naval forces opened fire at Palestinian fishermen west of Bayt Lahiya; no injuries were reported. Israeli forces also fired tear gas at Palestinian shepherds east of Rafah, causing tear-gas related injuries. House Resolution 1865 was signed into law by U.S. president Donald Trump. H.R. 1865 is a 715 page-long appropriations bill for the 2020 fiscal year which allocates $150 million in aid to Palestine, $75 million in assistance to the PA security forces and $75 million for civilian and humanitarian programs and institutions not directly connected to the PA. The bill also seeks to “fix” the Anti-Terrorism Clarifications Act which became law on 10/3/2018 and effectively ended all aid for the PA, including security aid, as it subjected the PA to the jurisdiction of U.S. courts if the PA accepted any aid from the U.S. The “fix” gives U.S. courts jurisdiction if the PA or the PLO provides payments to any individual or family of an individual convicted of killing a U.S. citizen. The Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) Fatou Bensouda announced that there is basis to probe Israel for war crimes committed against Palestinians, but requested the ICC to decide on the question of the jurisdiction of East Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Gaza. Chief Prosecutor Bensouda said that her preliminary investigation has found that “war crimes have been or are being committed in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip.” (AJ, Guardian, HA, HA, WAFA 12/20; HA 12/21)

In the West Bank, Israeli settlers uprooted 300 olive trees in al-Khadir. Settlers also wrote racist graffiti on walls of buildings and slashed the tires of 25 vehicles in al-Jib. Israeli forces clashed with Palestinians in al-‘Arub, causing tear-gas related injuries. 12 Palestinians were arrested during late-night raids in and around Ramallah, Qalqilya, Jenin, and Hebron. In East Jerusalem, 1 Palestinian was arrested during a late-night raid in Issawiyya. In Gaza, Israel struck targets in Gaza after a rocket was fired from Gaza toward Israel. No injuries were reported, but damage was reported. Israeli forces fired tear gas at Palestinian agricultural lands east of Khan Yunis, forcing farmers to leave. Israeli naval forces fired a water cannon at a Palestinian fisherman, causing damage to his boat. Israel also reduced the fishing zone to 6 nautical miles. 3 Palestinians were arrested after trying to enter Israel by the Gaza fence; all 3 were released on 12/20. The Israeli high court of justice criticized Israeli police handling Palestinian complaints of destruction of their property. The court said the police’s handling of such complaints “is troubling, to say the least” and that in 1 case, “except for taking the Palestinian plaintiff’s statement, the police did virtually nothing.” (HA 12/20)

In the West Bank, Israeli forces opened fire and fired tear gas at Palestinians near the separation barrier north of Tulkarm, causing injuries. Israeli forces injured a Palestinian in Bayt Jala who allegedly threw a Molotov cocktail at an Israeli military vehicle; the man was hospitalized for his injuries. Israeli settlers vandalized road construction equipment in the northern part of the Jordan Valley. In East Jerusalem, Israeli forces demolished the 2d floor of a Palestinian-owned building in Issawiyya. In Gaza, Israeli forces killed a Palestinian, who was allegedly approaching the Gaza fence, in an airstrike. In the West Bank, the Israel Electric Corporation cut power for 10s of thousands of Palestinians in Ramallah for 3 hours between 2pm and 5pm. Israeli settlers threw stones at Palestinian-owned vehicles driving on a road between Nablus and Qalqilya, causing damage. Israeli settlers also vandalized a number of Palestinian-owned bulldozers in the Jordan Valley by filling their fuel tanks with sand. 5 Palestinians were arrested during late-night raids in and around Hebron, Jenin, and Qalandia. In East Jerusalem, 3 Palestinians were arrested during late-night raids, including a Fatah official. In Gaza, Israeli forces opened fire on agricultural lands, damaging a municipality truck. In a separate incident, Israeli forces fired tear gas near Khuza‘a; no injuries were reported. Off the coast of Gaza, Israeli naval forces opened fire on Palestinian fishermen 3 nautical miles off the coast of Jabaliya; no injuries were reported. In the West Bank, Palestinians and Israeli forces clashed during a raid near Ramallah; no injuries were reported, but a live bullet smashed a window of a Palestinian-owned house. 1 Palestinian was arrested near Qalqilya for allegedly throwing stones at Israeli soldiers. In Gaza, 9 Palestinians were injured by Israeli-fired live ammunition and rubber-coated bullets and others suffered tear-gas related injuries during the 84th Great March of Return protest. The UN General Assembly extended UNRWA’s mandate to 3 years in a vote of 169-2 with 9 countries abstaining. The U.S. and Israel were the 2 votes against extending the mandate. PA president Mahmoud Abbas called the extension “evidence that the entire world are standing with our people, its historical rights, and its just cause.” (AJ, HA, WAFA 12/13; JP 12/14)

In the West Bank, 14 Palestinians were arrested, including 11 during late-night raids in and around Hebron, Ramallah, Bethlehem, and Jericho; 3 were arrested at flying checkpoints near Qalqilya. During a raid in Ramallah, 1 Palestinian paramedic was injured by gunfire as Palestinians clashed with Israeli forces; others suffered tear-gas related injuries. In Israel, a Palestinian village was raided by Israeli extremists, slashing the tires of some 20 Palestinian-owned vehicles and writing racist graffiti like “Muhammad is a pig” on buildings, including a mosque. A spokesperson for Israel’s military liaison said that none of the around 1,000 Palestinian Christians in Gaza would be allowed entry to the West Bank to celebrate Christmas or visit family. (REU 12/12; WAFA 12/13; HA 12/14)

In the West Bank, Israeli forces shot and injured a Palestinian near the West Bank separation barrier southwest of Jenin. In a separate incident, Israeli forces opened fire on Palestinians near a checkpoint by the West Bank separation barrier north by Nazlat Issa, causing 5 Palestinians to be hospitalized with gun wounds and others to suffer tear-gas related injuries. A raid by Israeli forces near Ramallah led to clashes with Palestinians; 2 Palestinians were injured by rubber-coated bullets. Israeli settlers began fencing off a piece of Palestinian-owned land in Burin. 11 Palestinians were arrested during late-night raids in and around Ramallah, Bethlehem, Nablus, and Jenin. In East Jerusalem, Israeli forces arrested 2 Palestinians: 1 during a late-night raid in Issawiyya and 1 employee of the Islamic Waqf at the Haram al-Sharif compound. The PA sent a request to Israel to allow Palestinians in East Jerusalem to be able to partake in the planned Palestinian parliamentary and presidential elections. Israeli officials said that the Israeli security cabinet would decide on the request. (HA 12/10)

The Netherlands informed the UNRWA that it will resume funding of the agency after suspending its funding on 31 July due to allegations of misconduct in UNRWA leadership. (WAFA 12/10)

Japan signed a contract to fund construction of hearing and speech units at the Maghazi Community Rehabilitation Society in Gaza amounting to $84,191. The EU contributed with $11 million to support PA payments of social allowances to vulnerable families in Gaza and the West Bank. (WAFA, WAFA 12/10)

In the West Bank, Israeli forces demolished a shack and razed 6 dunams (1.4 acres) of agricultural land in Bayt Umar. Palestinians in Hebron observed a general strike protesting Israel’s plans to make a new settlement and closed fruit and vegetable market in the city, announced on 12/1. During a protest march against the settlement, clashes broke out between protesters and Israeli forces, leading to tear-gas related injuries. 11 Palestinians were arrested during 9 late-night raids in and around Hebron, Dura, Ramallah, Jenin, and Tulkarm; and 2 at a flying checkpoint near Jenin. In East Jerusalem, Israeli settlers damaged 160 Palestinian-owned cars by slashing tires and houses were defaced by racist graffiti like “Arabs = enemies” in Shu‘fat. A Palestinian family demolished a room in their house in Jabal Mukabir after receiving a demolition order on 12/6. 2 Palestinians were arrested during evening raids in the Old City and Issawiyya. Israel’s public security minister Gilad Erdan issued an order banning PA governor of Jerusalem Adnan Ghaith from conducting any PA-related activity in East Jerusalem, including holding meetings, gatherings, and conferences. Governor Ghaith has been arrested by Israel 7 times since becoming governor in 2018. (HA 12/10)

In the West Bank, Israeli settlers razed Palestinian-owned land in Burin using a bulldozer. Israeli forces seized 1 Palestinian-owned vehicle in Sawahara al-Sharqiyya and demolished 1 shack and 2 residential structures near Abu Nawwar. 11 Palestinians were arrested during late-night raids in and around Ramallah, Nablus, Bethlehem, and Hebron; 2 others were arrested at a school in Urif. Israeli forces conducted military drills in the northern part of the Jordan Valley. Israeli forces also sealed off an entrance to Nahalin; 2 other entrances to the village are permanently closed. In Gaza, Israeli forces fired tear gas at agricultural lands, forcing farmers to leave the area east of Khan Yunis. 1 Palestinian was arrested at the Erez crossing. In the West Bank, Israeli settlers set a car on fire and wrote racist graffiti on walls in Taybeh, and 3 cars were vandalized with graffiti and slashed tires in Dayr ‘Ammar. Israeli settlers also vandalized 30 Palestinian-owned olive trees in al-Sawiya. Israeli forces opened fire on Palestinians trying to enter Israel south of Tulkarm; 1 Palestinian was injured by live ammunition. Elsewhere, in al-‘Arub refugee camp, Israeli forces and Palestinians clashed at a checkpoint, leading to tear-gas related injuries. There was no mass organized protest in Gaza, as the organizing committee behind the Great March of Return called off the protest on 11/27. However, some 300 Palestinians still protested east of Khan Yunis; Israeli forces violently dispersed the protest and 1 minor was killed and 7 others injured by live ammunition. Later, 1 rocket was fired toward Israel, causing no damage or injuries, and Israel conducted several airstrikes in Gaza, causing damage but no injuries. In the West Bank, 26 Palestinians were injured when Israeli settlers and military escort toured Joseph’s Tomb, leading to clashes; 15 Palestinians were injured by rubber-coated bullets, 11 others suffered tear-gas related injuries. 4 Palestinians were arrested during late-night raids in and around Hebron. Israel started construction to expand the Nof Tzion settlement in Jabal Mukabir of East Jerusalem. The settlement will be the largest in East Jerusalem when the construction finishes. 96 Israeli settler families currently live in the settlement and an additional 476 settlement units are expected be constructed. The committee behind the Great March of Return canceled the weekly protest scheduled for 11/29 for the 3d week in a row. In a statement, the committee said that they wanted to prevent Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu from being able to distract from his own pollical and personal issue by shedding blood. In the West Bank, Israeli forces violently dispersed Palestinian protesters in several cities; Palestinians were protesting the U.S. administration’s announcement that it no longer considers Israeli settlements in contradiction to international law on 11/18. 82 Palestinians received treatment for tear gas and smoke inhalation and rubber-coated bullet wounds in al-Bireh, Bethlehem, Huwwara, Abu Dis, Ramallah, Hebron, and Tulkarm. Separately, Israeli forces violently dispersed protesters in Silat al-Dahir and Tulkarm, who were demonstrating because of the death of a Palestinian prisoner in an Israeli jail who died of cancer. Israeli forces also demolished a Palestinian-owned house in Qalandia and delivered a demolition notice for a house in Bayt Awa. Israeli settlers vandalized cars and buildings in al-Jaba‘, slashing tires and writing racist graffiti. Israeli settlers also set Palestinian-owned farmland on fire in Madama and in Sabastiyya. 9 Palestinians were arrested during raids in and around Jenin, Qalqilya, Biddu, Bethlehem, and Hebron. Off the coast of Gaza, Israeli naval forces shot and injured 1 Palestinian fisherman. In Gaza, 2 rockets were launched at Israel; 1 was intercepted and the other fell in an open area, causing no injuries or damage. For the 2d day in a row, Israeli forces fired tear gas near schools in Hebron, causing tear-gas related injuries among students. 13 Palestinians were arrested during raids in and around Bethlehem, Hebron, Tulkarm, Ramallah, Jericho, and Tubas. In East Jerusalem, 12 Palestinians were arrested during late-night raids in Issawiyya. In Gaza, 1 rocket was launched from Gaza toward Israel, landing in an open area and causing no damage or injuries. Omar Shakir, the Human Rights Watch director for Israel and Palestine, left Israel after being expelled. Shakir’s deportation proceedings started in May 2018 and the decision to expel him from the country was upheld by the Israeli Supreme Court on 11/5. Shakir will remain in his position working from Jordan. (HA 11/25)

In the West Bank, Israeli forces shot and injured a Palestinian in Bayt Umar using live ammunition. Israeli forces also fired tear gas near a school in Hebron, causing tear-gas related injuries. 5 Palestinians were arrested including 4 during late-night raids in and around Hebron; 1 was arrested during a raid east of Bethlehem. In East Jerusalem, Israeli forces arrested 2 Palestinians during late-night raids in the Old City. In Gaza, Israeli forces opened fire on Palestinian farmlands east of Khan Yunis; no injuries were reported. Israeli transportation minister Bezalel Smotrich announced a number of new settler-only roads in the West Bank, saying that his “master plan for transportation in Judea and Samaria [the West Bank] that looks 30, 40, 50 and 60 years ahead.” All the planned roads, including 1 currently being constructed near al-‘Arub refugee camp, includes seizure of Palestinian-owned land. In the West Bank, Israeli settlers raided Bayt Dajan, Qabalan, Majdal Bani Fadl near Nablus, and Kafr al-Dik near Salfit, and vandalized more than 50 Palestinian-owned vehicles, setting several on fire; settlers also wrote racist graffiti on several buildings. In Hebron, an Israeli settler assaulted 12 Palestinians. In Gaza, 1 Palestinian man succumbed to injuries he sustained during Israeli airstrikes on 11/14. This brings the comprehensive death toll in the Israeli attack on Gaza starting on 11/12 to 34. Despite the Great March of Return protest being canceled, several Palestinians protested by the Gaza fence; 1 Palestinian was shot by Israeli forces using live ammunition, others suffered tear-gas related injuries. Israeli forces separately opened fire on Palestinian farmland east of Jabalia; no injures were reported. In the West Bank, Israeli forces violently dispersed sit-in protests in Bethlehem and Tulkarm against the shooting of a photojournalist who lost his eye on 11/16; in Tulkarm, 1 Palestinian was hit by a tear gas canister to the head, 2 others were injured by live ammunition, and others suffered tear-gas related injuries. Israeli forces shot and injured a Palestinian man at a checkpoint near Tulkarm. Meanwhile, Israeli forces raided Jalazun refugee camp, leading to clashes with Palestinian students leaving an UNRWA school. 2 students were transferred to a hospital with life-threatening injuries after being hit by live ammunition. Elsewhere, Israeli forces delivered demolition notices for 1 house east of Yatta. 4 Palestinians were arrested in Silwad and al-‘Arub refugee camp. In East Jerusalem, clashes erupted between Israeli forces and Palestinians in Silwan; no injuries were reported. Israeli forces also violently dispersed a sit-in protest by Hebrew University against Israeli airstrikes on Gaza; 3 people were arrested. 1 Palestinian was killed and 3 others arrested after a car chase; Israeli police alleged that the 4 had stolen cars and were heading for Bethlehem. Israeli police first said that the man they killed was shot while in the car; later the Israeli ministry of justice said he was shot after exiting the car. In the West Bank, Israeli settlers vandalized 25 vehicles and wrote racist graffiti on Palestinian-owned buildings, including a mosque, in Qarawat Bani Hassan. Israeli forces ordered Palestinians southeast of Tubas to evacuate 28 dunams of land, uproot olive trees, and demolish a structure. Israeli forces also violently dispersed a protest in Bethlehem, leading to 30 Palestinians suffering tear-gas related injuries. 8 Palestinians were arrested during late-night raids in and around Ramallah, Bethlehem, and Hebron. In East Jerusalem, 1 Palestinian was arrested in Issawiyya; he was badly beaten by Israeli police. Some 200 Israeli settlers toured the Haram al-Sharif compound. In Gaza, 9 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes, including a family of 8 in Dayr al-Balah with 5 children; 12 others were wounded. This brings the comprehensive death toll of the Israeli attack on Gaza starting on 11/12 to 33, with at least 111 Palestinians reported injured. Israel later admitted that killing the family in Dayr al-Balah was a mistake and that they believed the house was empty. The Faroe Islands’ foreign minister Jenis av Rana said that the country wants to open a diplomatic representation to Israel in Jerusalem against the wishes of the Danish government. Earlier in the year, the Danish prime minister Mette Frederiksen said that Greenland and the Faroe Islands would have more independence in foreign policy during her government. (Politiken 11/14)

In the West Bank, Israeli forces violently suppressed a demonstration against Israeli aggression in Gaza. In Bethlehem, 1 Italian tourist was injured when he was hit by a tear gas canister; others suffered tear-gas related injuries. Elsewhere, in al-‘Arub refugee camp, a Palestinian-owned house caught on fire after an Israeli tear gas grenade landed in it during a raid. Israeli forces also razed some 400 (99 acres) dunams of land in Bayt Umar and demolished a house under construction in Atuf. 7 Palestinians were arrested during late-night raids in and around Silwad, Jenin, Hebron, and Bethlehem. In East Jerusalem, a Palestinian family demolished 4 animal barns to avoid exorbitant demolition fees. 4 Palestinians were arrested during raids in Kafr ‘Aqab and Issawiyya. In Gaza, for the 2d day in a row, Israel and Islamic Jihad in Palestine exchanged rockets; 16 people were killed in Gaza and at least 40 were injured, making the comprehensive death toll since 11/12 26, including several minors. No Israelis have been reported killed and 1 person was reported injured. Officials in Gaza said that at least 48 housing units had been damaged, some completely destroyed. In the West Bank, 1 Palestinian man was killed by Israeli forces using live ammunition during clashes as Palestinians commemorated the 15th anniversary of the death of Yasir Arafat in al-‘Arub refugee camp. A video showed that the man, unarmed, slowly approached the Israeli soldiers with 1 hand on a towel and the other in the air before being shot. UN special coordinator for Middle East peace Nickolay Mladenov called the video of the incident shocking, calling for a probe. During other commemoration events in al-Fawar refugee camp, 1 Palestinian was injured by Israeli forces using live ammunition; in Dura, 1 Palestinian was injured by live ammunition; in Bayt Umar, several Palestinians suffered tear-gas related injuries. Israeli forces also demolished 2 Palestinian-owned structures in al-Muntar. 7 Palestinians were arrested during raids in and around Halhul, Bethlehem, Jenin, and Bayt Surik. Israeli forces prevented Palestinians from harvesting olives in Sabastiyya. 3 Palestinians were arrested during raids in and around Hebron and Bethlehem. In East Jerusalem, Israeli forces injured 16 Palestinians during a late-night raid in Issawiyya using rubber-coated bullets and tear gas. 2 Palestinians were arrested during raids. Off the coast of Gaza, Israeli naval forces opened fire on Palestinian fishermen off the shore of Jabalia and Bayt Lahiya; no injuries were reported. Israeli forces violently dispersed the weekly anti-settlement protest in Kafr Qaddum, causing tear-gas related injuries. 8 Palestinians were arrested during late-night raids in and around Halhul, Bayt Furik, Jalazun refugee camp, and Ramallah. In Gaza, 104 Palestinians were injured during the 82d weekly Great March of Return protest, including 41 by live ammunition. In East Jerusalem, PA Jerusalem affairs minister Fadi Hidmi was arrested for the 3d time this year during a late-night raid in Silwan. Israeli forces also arrested 3 other Palestinians during raids in the Old City. In Gaza, Israeli forces opened fire on Palestinian agricultural lands east of Khuza‘a; no injuries were reported. In Israel, leaders of Palestinian citizens of Israel began a 3-day hunger strike to protest Israeli authorities’ inaction against violence in the communities. In Gaza, 144 Palestinians were injured during the 81st weekly Great March of Return protest, including 73 by live ammunition and at least 31 by rubber-coated bullets; others suffered tear-gas related injuries. Later, some 10 rockets were fired at Israel; Israel bombed several places in Gaza, killing 1 Palestinian and wounding 3 others. In the West Bank, Israeli settlers chop down 25 Palestinian-owned olive trees in Nahalin. Israeli forces violently dispersed an anti-settlement protest in al-Humma, causing 5 tear-gas related injuries. In East Jerusalem, Israeli forces violently dispersed a protest in support of hunger-striking prisoners in Israeli jails, causing tear-gas related injuries and arresting 2 of the protesters. In Gaza, 1 Palestinian was injured by Israeli forces while driving a sanitation vehicle east of Khan Yunis. Separately, Israeli forces opened fire on Palestinian farmers; no injuries were reported. A Palestinian working for Amnesty International was briefly detained at the Allenby Bridge and told he was not allowed to leave the West Bank. Israeli forces also fired sound bombs and tear gas during a raid on a wedding ceremony east of Hebron. 3 Palestinians were arrested, including 1 during a late-night raid in Tulkarm, and 2 were arrested during clashes in Hebron. Israeli forces also assaulted 1 Palestinian photojournalist covering a raid in Hebron. In East Jerusalem, Israeli forces arrested a Palestinian minor at a mosque in Issawiyya. Malaysia announced that the country would open an embassy to Palestine in Jordan. Malaysian prime minister Mahathir Mohamad said, “[w]e know that Israel will not allow Malaysia to open an embassy in the Occupied Territory. As such, we will open the embassy in Jordan.” (WAFA 10/25)
