PA president Mahmoud Abbas extended the COVID-19-related state of emergency for another 30 days. The 1st COVID-19-related state of emergency was issued on 5 March. According to the PA health ministry, more than 50,000 Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus and 379 people have died from it. The vice president of Sudan’s transitional government Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo said in an interview with a Sudanese TV station that if Sudan establishes relations with Israel then the U.S. will remove Sudan from the list of countries sponsoring terrorism. Dagalo said that Sudan would “need Israel” as the country could benefit from Israeli technical and agricultural capabilities. Israeli PM Netanyahu convenes his security cabinet to discuss the 4/2 agreement between the P5+1 and Iran, and the cabinet unanimously opposes the deal. Netanyahu says, “This is a bad deal not just for Israel, this is a bad deal for the region and for the world,” and calls for any final deal to require Iran to recognize Israel’s right to exist.
