The Palestine Chronology

For a 3d day in a row, hundreds of Palestinians gather in Gaza City to protest the high cost of living and restrictions on imports to Gaza. Hamas security forces violently disperse the protesters, causing several minor injuries. A senior PLO official says that the PLO has called on Egypt to help pressure Hamas into ending its violent suppression of these protests, which started earlier this week. In the West Bank, IDF troops arrest 5 Palestinians during late-night raids near Bethlehem; and patrol near Nablus, Hebron, Salfit, Qalqilya, and Ramallah. Along Gaza’s border, IDF troops open fire on Palestinian farmers working near Dayr al-Balah, causing no damage or injuries. In East Jerusalem, Israeli forces arrest 3 Palestinians during late-night raids in Bayt Hanina, Jabal Mukabir, and Wadi al-Juz. (HA, TOI 3/16)
