In the West Bank, Israeli settlers attacked 1 Palestinian shepherd in Ein al-Beida. Israeli forces shot and killed 1 man protesting soldiers beating his son who was arrested during a house raid in Qalandia. The Palestinian man’s wife said her husband had gone outside to stop the soldiers’ assault on their son when he was shot and killed. Israeli forces also shot and killed 2 Palestinians and injured 7 others during a raid in Qabatiya. Elsewhere, Israeli forces demolished 1 agricultural structure in Duma. Israeli forces also issued an eviction notice to a family in Hajja in preparation for a punitive demolition. 20 Palestinians were arrested during late-night raids in Qalandia refugee camp, Dheisheh refugee camp, ad-Doha, al-Baqa‘a, and Qalqilya. In East Jerusalem, Israeli settlers wrote hateful graffiti aimed at Christians on the walls of the Armenian Orthodox Patriarchate building in the Old City. Israeli forces raided the home of PA governor of Jerusalem Adnan Ghaith, informing him that his ban on contacting PA officials and entering the West Bank had been extended for 6 months. Peace Now and Bimkom said that a clause in the Likud Party and Religious Zionism Party coalition agreement could see Israel seize 13,000 dunams (3,250 acres) of Palestinian-owned land in the West Bank and 70 buildings in Hebron transferred to settlers as Israel claims that the land and buildings were owned by Jewish people before 1948. The land Israel intends to seize is located near Bethlehem, Nabi Samwil, Battir, and Beit Furik, including land in Area B. (HA 1/12)

PA prime minister Mohammad Shtayyeh met with U.S. special representative for Palestinian affairs Hady Amr in Ramallah. Prime Minister Shtayyeh urged the U.S. to act quickly to end Israeli measures to weaken the PA and undermine the 2-state solution. (WAFA 1/12)

In the West Bank, Israeli settlers attacked Palestinians harvesting olives near Qaffin, assaulting 1 and stealing olive harvest. Israeli forces fired tear gas at a home in the Masafer Yatta area, causing tear-gas related injuries. Israeli forces also violently dispersed Palestinian farmers in Sinjil, causing tear-gas related injuries. 15 Palestinians were arrested during late-night raids in al-Bireh, Abu Dis, Nabi Samwil, al-Ram, Dheisheh refugee camp, Bani Na‘im, Hebron, and Nablus. Palestinians in several cities and villages in the West Bank marched in solidarity with the relatives of members of the militant group the Lion’s Den who have had their travel permits revoked as collective punishment. (HA 10/18)

Haaretz reported that the U.S. department of homeland security informed U.S. congress in September that Israel does not meet the criteria for the Visa Waiver program. Congressperson Don Beyer (D-VA) circulated a letter telling his colleagues that Israel still does not meet the criteria as it does not extend visa-free travel to “all U.S. citizens and nationals.” (HA 10/18; WAFA 10/19)

The Australian foreign ministry announced that the country had reversed the former government’s recognition of West Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, saying that the Australian embassy will remain in Tel Aviv and that Jerusalem is a final status matter. Israel said that it is considering retaliatory measures against Australia for its reversal. In the West Bank, 1 Palestinian man was shot and killed after allegedly stabbing 1 Israeli soldier near the Hebron settlement Kiryat Arba. Israeli settlers, led by MK Itamar Ben-Gvir, toured Nabi Samwil, leading to attacks on Palestinians. Israeli settlers also vandalized a greenhouse near Zawata. Elsewhere, Israeli settlers set up tents outside of al-‘Awja. Israeli forces violently dispersed Palestinian protesters in Kafr Qaddum, injuring 7 with baton rounds and others with tear gas. In the West Bank, Israeli settlers placed a large menorah on the roof of a mosque in Nabi Samwil. Israeli settlers with military escort blocked an entrance to al-Lubban ash-Sharqiya. Elsewhere, Israeli settlers threw stones at Palestinian homes in Burqa. Israeli forces shot and injured 1 Palestinian, physically assaulted 1, and injured others by tear gas suffocation during a late-night raid in Silwad. 8 Palestinians were arrested during late-night raids in Surif, Tubas, Silat al-Harithiya, Nablus, and ‘Asira. In East Jerusalem, Israeli forces delivered a demolition notice for an apartment and office building in Silwan. Israeli forces also arrested and interrogated PA governor of Jerusalem Adnan Ghaith before releasing him to house arrest and renewing his ban on contacting PA officials. 16 others were arrested during late-night raids in Isawiya and Qalandia refugee camp. Egypt announced that it had signed an agreement with Israel to increase the amount of natural gas it receives from Israel. Egypt exports the gas it buys from Israel to the European market using its liquefied gas terminals. (MEMO 11/26)

In the West Bank, Israeli settlers from the Yitzhar settlement vandalized 150 olive trees in Burin. Israeli forces shot and injured 1 Palestinian shepherd leading a herd of sheep near the Yitzhar settlement. Israeli forces also demolished 1 agricultural structure and delivered 2 demolition orders in Nabi Samwil, demolished 11 residential structures in al-Qabbun, and seized 1 tractor, water tanks, and solar panels. Elsewhere, Israeli forces arrested 33 Palestinian students from Birzeit University after detaining 45 students who were visiting the family who were victims of an Israeli punitive demolition in Turmus ‘Ayya on 7/8; 12 of the 45, all females, were released the same day. 16 other Palestinians were arrested during late-night raids in and around Beita, Tulkarm, al-Far‘a refugee camp, and Tuqu’; during the raid in al-Far‘a refugee camp, Israeli forces violently dispersed Palestinians, injuring 1 with live ammunition. A spokesperson for Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s Justice and Development Party said that President Erdoğan and Israel’s president Isaac Herzog agreed to improve the 2 countries’ ties, including on trade and tourism, in a phone conversation on 7/12. The Israeli military said that its Iron Dome missile defense system almost shot down a fighter jet, mistaking it for a rocket during Israel’s assault on Gaza in May, dubbed Operation Guardian of the Walls. Soon after the 6:00 A.M. Palestinian ceasefire deadline, the IDF withdraws all troops fr. Gaza, ending n.
