In the West Bank, Israeli settlers threw stones at Palestinian vehicles traveling near ‘Usarin, injuring 1 infant and damaging several cars. Israeli forces violently dispersed Palestinian protesters in Kafr Qaddum, injuring 4 with baton rounds and others with tear gas. Israeli forces also shot and injured 1 Palestinian with a baton round during a raid in ‘Usarin. Elsewhere, Israeli forces seized 1 tractor in Shaab al-Butum in the Masafer Yatta area. 2 Palestinians were arrested during late-night raids in Dura. In Gaza, Israeli forces opened fire at Palestinian farmers east of Khan Yunis; no injuries were reported. In Israel, 1 Palestinian citizen of Israel was shot and killed after he allegedly rammed his car into 3 Israeli police officers in Kafr Qasim, injuring all 3. In the West Bank, Israeli forces violently dispersed Palestinian protesters in Beita, injuring 7 with rubber-coated bullets and 30 with tear gas. Israeli forces also violently dispersed Palestinian protesters in Bayt Dajan, injuring 30 with tear gas. Elsewhere, Israeli forces violently dispersed Palestinian protesters in Ras al-Joura and al-Khader, causing tear-gas related injuries. 10 Palestinians were arrested during late-night raids in and around Husan, Bani Na‘im, Hebron, Tulkarm, Ramallah, and ‘Askar refugee camp. In East Jerusalem, 1 Israeli settler attacked 1 Palestinian activist in Sheikh Jarrah during a protest against evictions in neighborhood. Israeli forces violently dispersed Palestinians protesting the demolitions at al-Yusufiya Muslim cemetery, injuring 3 with sound bombs and arresting 7; Israel said that Palestinian stone throwers had damaged 1 police vehicle. 5 others were arrested in Shu‘fat, the Old City, and al-Tur. In Gaza, Israeli forces opened fire at Palestinian agricultural lands east of Khan Yunis; no injuries were reported. Off the coast of Gaza, Israeli naval forces opened fire at Palestinian fishermen within 3 nautical miles west of Gaza; no injuries were reported. PA president Mahmoud Abbas dispatched the head of the Detainees Affairs Commission Qadri Abu Bakr on a 2-week tour to meet with leaders in Egypt, Belgium, and France in order to gather international support for the Palestinian prisoners hunger striking against their administrative detention. 1 of the prisoners has been on hunger strike for 107 days, another for 101 days, and 3 others for more than 65 days. ABC News reported that Facebook employees expressed concern over the restrictions on the Palestinian activist Muhammed El Kurd’s Instagram account during Israel’s May assault on Gaza. The document was leaked to ABC News by a congressional staffer after the testimony by Frances Haugen, a Facebook whistleblower. The Texas-based company A&R Engineering and Testing Inc., along with the Council on American-Islamic Relations, filed a lawsuit against the city of Houston and the Attorney General of Texas, saying that the state’s anti-boycott of Israel laws are unconstitutional, citing the 1st and 14th amendments. The lawsuit was filed after the engineering company on 10/13 was told to sign a pledge that the company is not engaging in a boycott of Israel; the company has been providing services for the city of Houston for 17 years. In the West Bank, Israeli settlers chopped down 80 Palestinian-owned olive trees in Yasuf near the Israeli settlement Rachelim. Israeli forces arrested 6 Palestinians during late-night raids in and around Bethlehem and al-Ram. In East Jerusalem, 8 Palestinians were arrested during late-night raids in Issawiyya. In Gaza, a Palestinian shot by Israeli forces during the weekly Great March of Return protest on 7/26 died of his wounds. The 23-year-old man was shot in his stomach east of Khan Yunis. IDF troops on the n. Gaza border nr. Bayt Hanun fire a surface-to-surface missile at 4 Hamas mbrs. nearly 1.5 mi. inside the border, wounding 1. Gaza hospitals announce that they have suspended surgeries because Israel is blocking the import of anesthesia drugs. In the West Bank, the IDF deliberately fires on, disables an electricity network in Sa‘ir nr. Hebron; conducts arrest raids, house searches in and around Nablus. A Jewish settler fr. Ariel kills a 40-yr.-old Palestinian man in a deliberate hit-and-run nr. Kafr Qasim. Jewish settlers fr. Beitar nr. Bethlehem attack a Palestinian passing nr. the settlement. In Rafah, an Islamic Jihad mbr.shoots, wounds a Hamas mbr. outside his home. The IDF assassinates wanted Hamas mbr. Akram Abu Sarhana, firing missiles at his taxi as he drives nr. Khan Yunis; of the 4 others in the taxi, 1 Palestinian woman is killed, another wanted Hamas mbr. Muhammad Siyam (possibly the primary target) and 2 other passengers are wounded; around 10 other bystanders are injured; Israel claims the Hamas mbrs. were en route to stage an attack. In Bayt Hanun, 2 Hamas mbrs. are killed, an IDF soldier is wounded in an exchange of gunfire. Israeli Arabs observe their annual 1-day strike commemorating the 1976 incident in which 6 Palestinians protesting Israeli land confiscations were shot dead by Israeli police. For the 1st time, 3 Druze communities observe the strike. Land Day demonstrators storm an IDF base being built on land expropriated fr. the Arab village of Sakhnin.
