Military Action
Occupied Palestine/Israel: Army seals off most of the Gaza Strip [NYT 3/22]. In Rafah, on the Egyptian border, Israeli troops drop tear gas from helicopters, fire live ammunition in effort todisperse rockthrowing protesters; 1 Palestinian is killed, 4 others wounded. Town is ordered under curfew [WP, NYT 3/22]. Palestinian sources report Bayt Hanun resident is also shot dead by Israeli troops. Stone- and bottle-throwing demonstrators clash with soldiers in Ramallah, Nablus, Far'ah camp, 'Askar camp, Bani Na'im village, 'Arrub camp, and Fawwar camp.
