U.S. House of Representatives passes 273-144 H.R. 2333, the "State Department, USIA, and Related Agencies Authorization Act, Fiscal Years 1994 and 1995." Bill, passed on to Senate, includes $80m per year to Israel in FY 1994 and 1995 for refugee resettlement out of an annual $593.5m in global U.S. refugee aid. Bill passed despite $10b. in U.S. loan guarantees to Israel made in 1992 and against evidence Israel does not need such aid (see 6/9). (MEPARC 6/93; WP 8/3)
