In the 1st of a series of planned "placating measures" meant to encourage calm following the Washington mtgs., Israeli DM Mordechai orders IDF to lift internal closure on Bethlehem, pull back tanks surrounding Bethlehem. 50 Palestinian trucks are allowed to enter Israel to transport foodstuffs to Gaza.
