An Israeli court sentences 81-yr.-old Ahmad Hamdan to 1,000 days in prison for building a 2d floor on his home in the Silwan neighborhood of East Jerusalem without a license. Hamdan, who is partially paralyzed and seriously ill, was sentenced to jail when he could not afford the $26,000 fine. (PR 9/18)
