In Gaza, Islamic Jihad says that Hamas-affiliated police have recently detained several of its fighters as well as mbrs. of other factions and made them sign pledges that they would not stage cross-border attacks on Israel. In the West Bank, an IDF military order goes into effect under which anyone living in the West Bank without a proper Israeli permit (not clarified) could face expulsion within as little as 3 days or face 7 yrs. in prison.
