Israeli naval vessels off the n. Gaza coast fire on Palestinian fishing boats, forcing them to return to shore. In the West Bank, the IDF conducts late-night arrest raids, house searches nr. Hebron, Nablus. Jewish settlers fr. Ma'on raid al-Twana village (see 1/14), clashing with Palestinian villagers; the IDF intervenes to protect the settlers, violently beating 1 Palestinian.
