Off the coast of c. Gaza and later nr. Jabaliya, Israeli naval forces open fire on Palestinian fishing boats, causing no damage. IDF troops on the Gaza border e. of Bayt Hanun repeatedly fire warning shots at Palestinian farmers nr. the border fence, causing no injuries. Meanwhile, Hamas forces begin constructing a road less than 300 m from the Israeli border fence. (Hamas leaders will later verify, on 5/26, construction of the road, which they call Jakar Street, saying it will stretch 25 mi. long and 35 ft. wide when complete.) In the West Bank, Israeli settlers break down the doors of several Palestinian-owned shops in c. Hebron. The IDF conducts house searches and raids in Bethlehem, and 1 village each nr. Jenin and Hebron, arresting 3 Palestinians and issuing an arrest summons to 1; patrols nr. Ramallah, and in and around Hebron.
