Unidentified Gazans launch a rocket into southern Israel, where it lands in an open area, causing no damage or injuries. Israeli aircraft then conduct air strikes on 8 Hamas sites across Gaza late at night, causing extensive damage (there are no reported injuries). Earlier in the day, Israeli forces strike a Hamas outpost in southern Gaza allegedly used as a staging area for incendiary kite and balloon attacks on Israel. On the other side of the border fence, Israeli firefighters put out 7 fires that were reportedly sparked by such attacks. Meanwhile, IDF troops violently disperse hundreds of Palestinians gathering along Gaza’s border fence near Rafah to continue the Great March of Return; 8 Palestinians are injured. In the West Bank, IDF troops arrest 6 Palestinians during late-night raids in and around Nablus and Hebron; and patrol near Nablus and Hebron. In East Jerusalem, Israeli forces arrest a Palestinian suspected of planning to carry out an attack on Israelis after a car chase through the city. They also forcibly remove several Coptic priests from an entrance to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in the Old City. The priests were holding a sit-in protest against some recent Israel-led restoration work on a contested part of the church. Several of the priests suffer minor injuries. Meanwhile, the Israeli authorities evict a Palestinian family from a 4-story building in Silwan. The family were the last Palestinian tenants of the building remaining after settler group Ateret Cohanim seized control of much of the building in 2015.
