Secretary general of the PLO Saeb Erakat released a statement, reading, “This is an official announcement that Palestine will not attend the Manama meeting . . . We reiterate that we did not mandate anyone to negotiate on our behalf.” Erakat’s statement was in response to the U.S.-led summit of the economic component of U.S. president Donald Trump’s peace plan.
