In the West Bank, 7 Israeli settlers, including 6 soldiers, were injured when militants fired at an Israeli bus in the Jordan Valley. Israel said 2 Palestinians were arrested for the attack and that a 3d suspect was still at large. Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades took responsibility for the attack, saying it was the start of its operation “Summer Rain.” Israeli settlers vandalized 1 mobile home between Jenin and Nablus. Israeli forces delivered demolition notices against electric poles supplying 60 houses with electricity near Bethlehem. In East Jerusalem, Israeli settlers toured the Haram al-Sharif compound. The Hamas-run interior ministry in Gaza announced that 5 Palestinians had been executed, including 2 convicted of spying for Israel and 3 convicted of murder.
