In the West Bank, Israeli settlers threw stones at Palestinians and their property in Khallet Nahla, injuring 2 Palestinians. Elsewhere, Israeli settlers with a military escort set up 4 mobile homes near Umm al-Khair, leading to a confrontation with Palestinian landowners and causing tear-gas related injuries. Israeli settlers also vandalized 40 olive trees in Amateen. Israeli forces assaulted 1 Palestinian and arrested 2 others near the Negohot settlement. Israeli forces also violently dispersed Palestinian protesters in Bayt Dajan, injuring 2 with baton rounds. In Gaza, Israeli forces opened fire at agricultural lands east of Khuza’a and al-Bureij; no injuries were reported. Off the coast of Gaza, Israeli naval forces opened fire at Palestinian fishermen west of al-Sudaniyya; no injuries were reported. In Tel Aviv, at a protest against Israel’s new government, 1 Israeli man assaulted Palestinian MK and leader of the Hadash party Ayman Odeh after he gave a speech to the protesters. 1 man was arrested by Israeli police on 1/8 in relation to the assault. Israeli police raided a parent-teacher association meeting in Isawiya, claiming the event was funded by the PA. The chairperson of the association Mahmoud Faiz said the meeting had no relation to the PA and was related to staffing shortages at schools. (HA 1/7)
