In the West Bank, Israeli settlers assault 2 Palestinians with pepper spray near Nablus. Israeli forces shoot and kill 6 Palestinians and injure another during a raid in Kafr Dan. Israeli forces also shoot and injure a Palestinian man during a raid in Balata refugee camp. Elsewhere, Israeli forces shoot and injure a Palestinian man during a raid in Abu Dis. Israeli forces also assault a Palestinian man at the Container checkpoint near Bethlehem. Meanwhile, Israeli forces arrest 15 Palestinians during raids in and around Ramallah, Qalqilya, Nablus, Bethlehem, and Hebron. Palestinians in Ramallah and al-Bireh observe a general strike in protest against Israel’s killing of 4 Palestinians in Kafr Ni’ma on 6/10. In Gaza, Israeli forces bomb Rafah, Gaza City, al-Bureij, Dayr al-Balah, and Nuseirat refugee camp, killing at least 40 people. Israel says it has ended its invasion of eastern al-Bureij refugee camp and Dayr al-Balah. In Lebanon, Israeli forces bomb Jwaya, killing at least 4 people, including senior Hezbollah commander Taleb Abdullah. Israeli forces also bomb Naqoura, Ayta ash Shab, Kfar Kila, Aitaroun, Kafra, and Haris, killing a public utility worker in Naqoura. More than 37,164 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces in Gaza, including at least 15,103 children and 10,000 women, and around 84,832 have been injured since 10/7/2023. At least 7,000 people are missing in rubble, including 1,700 children. 537 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces and settlers in the West Bank and East Jerusalem since 10/7/2023, including 128 children. More than 5,100 people have been injured. Israel reports that 1,139 Israelis and foreign nationals have been killed and 5,400 have been injured in Israel since 10/7/2023, including Israeli soldiers. In addition, 299 Israeli soldiers have been killed and 1,908 injured in Gaza since the ground invasion began on 10/27/2023. Over 1.93 million Palestinians, nearly 85% of the population of Gaza, have been displaced since 10/7/2023. There has been a complete electricity blackout in Gaza since 10/12/2023 due to the Israeli blockade. The Israeli government tells the High Court of Justice that it is holding the body of Walid Daqqa to use in future prisoner exchange negotiations. The government also tells the court that it will close Sde Teiman detention center by the end of June, transferring all Palestinians to either Israeli prisons or releasing them to Gaza. Senior Hamas spokesperson Sami Abu Zuhri says Hamas accepts the UN resolution backing the Israeli-U.S. ceasefire proposal and says it is ready to discuss the details. Political Bureau member Izzat al-Rishq says the Hamas response is “responsible, serious, and positive.” Islamic Jihad and Hamas issue a joint statement saying they are working together to reach a ceasefire. U.S. secretary of state Antony Blinken meets with Israeli officials, including President Isaac Herzog, former war cabinet member Benny Gantz, and opposition leader Yair Lapid, discussing the U.S.-Israeli ceasefire proposal. Blinken says on 6/10 Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “reaffirmed his commitment to the proposal.” Blinken later travels to Jordan where he meets PA prime minister Mohammad Mustafa, discussing PA reforms and the ceasefire proposal. UN human rights office spokesperson Jeremy Laurence says both Israel and Hamas may have committed war crimes in relation to the Israeli operation in Nuseirat refugee camp on 6/8, Israel by disproportionally killing civilians when freeing the Israeli captives and Hamas by putting civilian lives at risk by keeping the captives in a densely populated area. At the Call for Action donor conference for Palestinians held in Jordan, PA president Mahmoud Abbas calls on countries to provide relief for Palestine and on the UN Security Council to enforce its resolutions to open all crossings to Gaza. Abbas also meets with Slovenian prime minister Robert Golob, European Council president Charles Michel, Jordanian king Abdullah II, Egyptian president Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Indonesian president Prabowo Subianto, and Spanish prime minister Pedro Sanchez in separate meetings on the sidelines of the conference. Secretary Blinken announces more than $400 million in humanitarian assistance and calls on other countries to contribute more.
