In the West Bank, Israeli settlers set fire to 17 vehicles and spray graffiti reading “War for Judea and Samaria” during a raid in al-Bireh. Israeli settlers also attack Palestinians harvesting olives and steal a vehicle during a raid in Birin. Elsewhere, Israeli settlers set fire to olive trees in Burqa. Israeli settlers also attack 2 Israeli soldiers near the Givat Assaf settlement. Israeli forces shoot and injure a Palestinian man in Wadi al-Hummus. Israeli forces also assault a Palestinian man at the Jaba’ checkpoint. Elsewhere, Israeli forces prevent Palestinians from harvesting olives in Qusra. Israeli forces also raid al-Maleh Elementary School in the Jordan Valley, forcing staff to leave it. Meanwhile, Israeli forces issue stop-work orders for 2 homes in Nablus. Israeli forces also arrest 12 Palestinians during late-night raids in and around Hebron, Nablus, Bethlehem, Ramallah, and Qalqilya. In East Jerusalem, Israeli authorities issue a demolition notice for a mosque in Jabel Mukaber. In Gaza, Israeli forces bomb Nuseirat refugee camp, Gaza City, Dayr al-Balah, and Beit Lahiya, killing at least 33 Palestinians. Israeli forces also shell the Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahiya. In Lebanon, Israeli forces bomb Machghara, Tebnine, Tyre, Maaroub, Yatar, Baalbek, Meiss Ej Jabal, and many other villages and towns, killing at least 16 people. Hezbollah forces fire rockets at Kidmat Tzvi and Ayelet Hashahar. In Syria, Israeli forces bomb southern Damascus, killing 2 people and injuring 5 others. More than 43,374 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces in Gaza, including at least 17,000 children and 11,487 women, and around 102,261 have been injured since 10/7/2023. At least 10,000 people are missing in rubble. 769 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces and settlers in the West Bank and East Jerusalem since 10/7/2023, including 168 children. More than 6,500 people have been injured. Israel reports that 1,139 Israelis and foreign nationals have been killed and 5,400 have been injured in Israel since 10/7/2023, including Israeli soldiers. In addition, 369 Israeli soldiers have been killed and 2,373 injured in Gaza since the ground invasion began on 10/27/2023. Over 1.93 million Palestinians, nearly 85% of the population of Gaza, have been displaced since 10/7/2023. There has been a complete electricity blackout in Gaza since 10/12/2023 due to the Israeli blockade. 87% of all housing units in Gaza have been destroyed or severely damaged since 10/7/2023. Israel officially notifies the UN that it has decided to cut ties with UNRWA and cancel the 1967 cooperation agreement that allows UNRWA to operate in Israel. UN secretary-general Antonio Guterres says UN and UNRWA lawyers are “taking a closer look at the letter” notifying the UN about the cancelation. U.S. State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller says Israel has not followed the recommendations for increasing aid to Gaza stipulated in a 10/13 letter. Miller declines to comment on what the consequences could be for Israel. Miller also says the U.S. “is deeply concerned by these and other recent reports of increasing extremist settler violence in the West Bank,” specifically referring to the attack in al-Bireh this morning (see above). Carrefour closes all its branches in Jordan. The BDS movement says the closure is a victory for the movement, as it has called for a boycott of Carrefour since the retail company entered a franchise partnership in 2022 with the Israeli companies Electra Consumer Products and Yenot Bitan.
