There has been a complete electricity blackout in Gaza since 10/12/2023 due to the Israeli blockade. 87% of all housing units in Gaza have been destroyed or severely damaged since 10/7/2023. The UN-backed Famine Review Committee says there is a “strong likelihood that famine is imminent in areas” of northern Gaza. The UN Human Rights Office says in a report covering the first 6 months of the Israeli war on Gaza that 70% of verified deaths in Gaza are women and children.
