In the West Bank, Israeli forces delivered demolition orders for 4 water collection wells in Khelet al-Dabe‘a, near Yatta. 10 Palestinians were arrested, including 8 during late-night raids in al-‘Aruj, Hindaza, ‘Askar refugee camp, Nablus, Dura, al-Dawha, Yatta, and Ramallah; 1 was arrested during a raid in ‘Anata, and 1 at a checkpoint near Nablus. In East Jerusalem, 1 Palestinian family demolished their own home in Sur Baher. 5 Palestinians were arrested during a late-night raid in Isawiya. Israel said it will allow 1,000 Palestinian merchants and 350 senior businesspeople from Gaza to enter Israel from 8/15 for the 1st time since 3/2020, when the COVID-19 outbreak took hold in Israel. The World Bank, EU, and UN issued a report saying that rebuilding Gaza after Israel’s assault in May, dubbed Operation Guardian of the Walls, will cost $485 million over the next 2 years. It estimates $300 million in material damage and $190 million in economic losses. The report also stated that urgent help for food and other necessities was needed for 45,000 people, new housing for 4,000 families, and the creation of 20,000 new jobs.
