The Palestine Chronology

In the West Bank, Israeli forces shot and injured 1 Palestinian during a raid in Jenin. Israeli forces also rammed and injured 1 Palestinian during a raid in Askar refugee camp, with others suffering tear-gas related injuries. Elsewhere, Israeli forces assaulted and arrested 1 Palestinian minor during a raid in Arrabah. Israeli forces also issued a stop-work order for a house in Zwedin in the Masafer Yatta area. In Gaza, Israeli forces opened fire at Palestinians farmers west of Khan Yunis; no injuries were reported. U.S. assistant secretary of state for near eastern affairs Barbara Leaf arrived in Israel for meetings with Israeli officials. Leaf is also expected to meet with PA officials next week. (TOI 6/18)

The New York Times reported that U.S. national security council coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa Brett McGurk was in Saudi Arabia on an unannounced trip to attempt to negotiate a normalization deal between the U.S., Israel, and Saudi Arabia. (AX, NYT 6/17; NA 6/18)
