In the West Bank, Israeli settlers vandalized 8 Palestinian-owned cars and sprayed racist graffiti on buildings in Yasuf. Israel settlers and military escort toured Joseph’s Tomb near Nablus, leading to confrontations with Israeli protesters; 4 Palestinians were injured by rubber-coated bullets and 16 others suffered tear-gas related injuries. 25 Palestinians were arrested during late-night raids in and around al-Ram, Hizma, Ramallah, Nablus, Qalqilya, Jericho, and Bethlehem. During a raid in Hebron, Israeli forces seized machinery from a blacksmith. In East Jerusalem, 2 Palestinians were arrested during raids in Bayt Hanina. 50 former foreign ministers and leaders of European countries wrote an open letter sharply criticizing the U.S. administration’s peace plan, saying it “evoke[s] chilling associations with South Africa’s bantustans.” The letter called on the EU to reject the U.S. peace plan.
