In the West Bank, Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian houses and chanted racist slogans in al-Twana. 2 Palestinians were arrested at different military checkpoints south of Nablus and east of Tulkarm. In East Jerusalem, 3 Palestinians were arrested during late-night raids. In Gaza, Israeli forces opened fire east of Dayr al-Balah; no injuries were reported. In Israel, Palestinian protesters clashed with Israeli police as protests against the pending demolition of an 18th-century Muslim cemetery in Jaffa continued; 4 people were arrested and city property was set on fire. In Lebanon, protesters rallied against the Lebanese government, for the 3d day in a row, after the Lebanese currency lost 60 percent of its value in recent weeks. Protesters called on the Lebanese government to resign. (AJ, AJ 6/13)
