Israel’s Supreme Court rejects an appeal against the construction of a highway set to cut in half the Palestinian East Jerusalem neighborhood Bayt Safafa. The court’s rejection of the residents’ appeal removes an obstacle for the highway to go ahead, which will link Jerusalem to the Gush Etzion settlement bloc. (HA 1/26)
