Hebron, Qalqilya and Ramallah, and in Bethlehem at night; patrols in 1 village nr. Hebron in the afternoon, and in 1 village and al-‘Arub r.c. nr. Hebron, and 1 village each nr. Egyptian FM Nabil Fahmy says that the interim stage of the post-coup govt. should end by spring 2014, with parliamentary and presidential elections due to take place. There is also a new constitution to be voted on. Meanwhile, Egyptian authorities reopen the Rafah crossing for 4 hours, with 370 people going in and out. Hizballah fighters clash with residents in Baalbek, with at least 3 killed and 6 wounded, with fighting beginning at a checkpoint manned by the group. Security forces are deployed to restore calm, and the next day, Hizballah hands over control of 2 checkpoints to the army. (AP 9/28, 9/29)
