In Gaza, Israeli forces bomb Khan Yunis, Nuseirat refugee camp, and Maghazi, killing at least 180 people, including around 150 in Jabalia refugee camp and at least 17 at the Shuhadaa al-Nuseirat School. The Civil Defense says Israel carried out a “major massacre” in Jabalia refugee camp. Families are reportedly forced out of homes and shelters and separated from one another while soldiers are attaching numbers on men. Israeli forces also shell the Kamal Adwan Hospital, damaging the ICU, emergency department, and oxygen station. Several children are reportedly killed due to the lack of oxygen. The hospital’s director Hussam Abu Safia says the hospital is unable to perform most surgeries after Israeli forces arrested most of its surgeons. PA president Mahmoud Abbas addresses the BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia, calling for the implementation of the UN Security Council Resolution 2728 that would end the Israeli attack on Gaza, saying that the PA must resume its duties in Gaza and that the State of Palestine would like to join the BRICS group.
