In the West Bank, Israeli settlers seize a water well in al-Maniya, setting up an outpost near it. Israeli forces shoot and kill a Palestinian man in Hebron, claiming he rammed into soldiers. Israeli forces also deliver a land seize notice to a family in Qalqilya, informing them it will seize 2 dunams (.5 acre) of land. Elsewhere, Israeli forces continue raids in Jenin and Jenin refugee camp for the 107th day in a row. Israeli forces also continue raids in Tulkarm, Tulkarm refugee camp, and Nur Shams refugee camp for the 101st day in a row. 2 Israeli settlers are shot and injured near Jenin. In East Jerusalem, Israeli forces demolish a horse stable in Isawiya. In Gaza, Israeli forces bomb Gaza City, Khan Yunis, Jabalia refugee camp, and al-Bureij refugee camp, killing more than 100 Palestinians, including at least 16 people at al-Karama School near Gaza City and 33 people at a market in Gaza City. Journalists Yahya Subeih and Nour al-Din Abdo are killed in the airstrikes on the school and market in Gaza City. In Lebanon, Israeli forces bomb Sidon, killing 1 person who Israel claims is Hamas commander Khalid Ahmad Ahmad. In Yemen, a drone is launched at Israel before being intercepted. More than 52,653 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces in Gaza, including at least 18,000 children and 12,749 women, and around 118,897 have been injured since 10/7/2023. In addition, 14,222 Palestinians who have been missing are presumed dead. 959 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces and settlers in the West Bank and East Jerusalem since 10/7/2023, including 192 children. More than 8,000 people have been injured. Israel reports that 1,139 Israelis and foreign nationals have been killed and 5,400 injured in Israel since 10/7/2023, including Israeli soldiers. In addition, 411 Israeli soldiers have been killed and 2,634 injured in Gaza since the ground invasion began on 10/27/2023. Over 1.93 million Palestinians, nearly 85% of the population of Gaza, have been displaced since 10/7/2023. There has been a complete electricity blackout in Gaza since 10/12/2023 due to the Israeli blockade. 92% of all housing units in Gaza have been destroyed or severely damaged since 10/7/2023. Dutch foreign minister Caspar Veldkamp says the Netherlands wants to force a review of the EU-Israel Association Agreement due to Israeli actions in Gaza. Portuguese foreign minister Paulo Rangel expresses support for Veldkamp’s plan. French president Emmanuel Macron calls the situation in Gaza “the most critical we have ever seen.” Spanish prime minister Pedro Sanchez says Spain will present a UN General Assembly draft resolution to introduce “urgent measures to stop the killing of innocent civilians and ensure humanitarian aid” in Gaza.  Ireland, Slovenia, Luxembourg, Iceland, and Norway also condemn Israeli plans to escalate further in Gaza. The Jerusalem Post reports that U.S. president Donald Trump is frustrated with Israel’s refusal to engage with ceasefire negotiations and will seek a large deal with Saudi Arabia next week even if it does not include normalization between Saudi Arabia and Israel. Trump also says that there will be an update in 24 hours on Gaza. Syrian president Ahmed al-Sharaa says his government is engaged in indirect talks with Israel through mediators to calm the situation in Syria, blaming Israel for “random interventions.” (AJ, HA, REU 5/7)

U.S. ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee meets with settler leaders at a conference in the Shilo settlement. The Israeli diaspora ministry announces that it will launch a campaign seeking international legitimization of settlements by inviting public figures and influencers from Europe, the U.S., and Latin America to tour settlements. 94 Democratic members of the U.S. House of Representatives sign a letter to Israeli ambassador to the U.S. Yechiel Leiter, urging Israel to resume aid shipments to Gaza, calling the blockade “strategically counterproductive and [it] will only hurt Israel’s international standing and long-term security.” (HA 5/7)

3 UK-based activist groups reveal that the UK has sent 8,630 separate munitions to Israel that the government said it would not sell to Israel in September 2024. (AJ 5/7)

At least 80 pro-Palestine protesters are arrested in a library at Columbia University in New York City.
