An Israeli court in Haifa rules that the IDF was not responsible for the killing of American activist Rachel Corrie in 2003 in the Gaza Strip (see QU in JPS 128). (REU 8/28)

Unidentified Palestinians fire a mortar and 5 Grad rockets from the Gaza Strip into Israel, causing no injuries. (MNA 8/28; 8/29)

Israeli naval vessels open fire on Palestinian fishermen nr. Bayt Lahiya, causing no injuries, and arrest 2 men in the morning.
