In the morning, IDF troops on the s. Gaza border fire 3 artillery shells into Abasan village, causing no injuries. In the West Bank, the IDF patrols in 2 villages nr. Qalqilya, 1 nr. Jenin, and 1 nr. Tulkarm (chasing stone-throwing Palestinians who confront them, arresting 1). Palestinians (sometimes accompanied by Israeli and international activists) hold weekly nonviolent demonstrations against the separation wall, land confiscations, and settlement expansion in Bil’in, Ni’lin, and Nabi Salih. IDF soldiers fire live ammunition (Nabi Salih only) rubber-coated steel bullets, tear gas, and stun grenades at the protesters; 1 Palestinian in Nabi Salih is lightly wounded by live ammunition.
