In the West Bank, Israeli settlers assault and injure 3 Palestinians outside Urif near Nablus, sparking clashes between IDF troops in the area and stone-throwing residents of the village; there are no more serious injuries. IDF troops arrest a Palestinian youth, allegedly for carrying a knife in his sock, during a security check at the entrance to al-Ibrahimi Mosque in central Hebron. They arrest 6 more Palestinians during late-night raids near Jenin and Bethlehem, and patrol near Hebron and in Ramallah. In East Jerusalem, Israeli forces arrest 3 Palestinians during raids in al-Suwana and Hizma. Chief of the Palestinian Civil Police Hazim Attallah announces that the PA resumed security coordination with Israel 2 weeks ago, approximately 3 months after Pres. Abbas suspended it on 7/21 in response to new Israeli security measures at Haram al-Sharif (see JPS 47 [1]). (REU, TOI 11/8)
