1,000s of Palestinians continue to cross the Rafah border, while Egyptian border guards attempt to assert some control; PA security forces do not attempt to block movement; Hamas mbrs. blow an opening in the concrete wall on the Palestinian side to facilitate passage. Hamas mbrs. disrupt a disengagement celebration at an abandoned settlement site nr. Khan Yunis, attack a Palestinian rap group in protest over their “Western” music. Abbas cancels plans to attend another national unity celebration at Neve Dekalim out of concern about gunmen. Meanwhile, the IDF raids an Internet caf´e in East Jerusalem, confiscating computers and disks, searches staff and customers; conducts arrest raids, house searches in Hebron; imposes a curfew on Zabbuba nr.
