Amid political turmoil in Moldova, Moldova’s acting president Pavel Filip said on 9 June that his administration had “adopted the decision to relocate the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. It was a long overdue commitment to support our allies.” The Palestinian Authority foreign ministry condemned the decision in a statement, saying, “The decision is a flagrant violation of international law, international legitimacy and the UN resolutions.” It is uncertain when Moldova will move its embassy; the country is scheduled to have elections in September.
