The IDF surrounds, searches the home of a wanted Palestinian in Allar nr. Tulkarm and, not finding him, threatens to demolish the house if he does not surrender, arrests his sister apparently for leverage; conducts arrest raids, house searches nr. Hebron and in Jenin (firing on residential areas), al-Khadir; patrols in, fires on residential areas of Tubas. Palestinians in n. Gaza fire an antitank missile at an IDF post just inside Israel, causing no damage or injuries. Jewish settlers fr. The Israeli Interior Min. issues demolition orders for 25 buildings in an unrecognized bedouin village in the Negev. Bedouin scuffle with Israeli policemen attempting to serve the demolition orders, leaving 12 bedouin and 12 police officers injured. (YA 11/15)

The IDF reinforces troops in Qalqilya, Tamun; conducts arrest raids, house searches nr. Hebron, Ramallah. PA security forces find, seal a smuggler’s tunnel on the Rafah border. Palestinians fire an antitank missile at an IDF patrol in s. Gaza, causing no damage or injuries. A Jewish settler fr. Itamar driving nr. Nablus shoots, wounds a Palestinian walking along the road; the IDF evacuates him to an Israeli hospital. Jewish settlers severely beat 3 Palestinian farmers working their land outside Bethlehem. The IDF fires missiles at Tal al-Za‘atar in n. Gaza, allegedly targeting Islamic Jihad mbrs. attempting to fire a rocket, but no injuries are reported; shells Jabaliya r.c., hitting a home, wounding 2 Palestinians; conducts arrest raids, house searches in Jenin, Ramallah; patrols in Nablus; captures 4 unarmed Palestinians attempting to sneak across the Israeli border fence in central Gaza to find work; detains a Palestinian in Ariel settlement who apparently was living there secretly with his Jewish settler girlfriend (a fmr. IDF intelligence officer). Palestinian gunmen fire on an IDF outpost nr. Mevo Dotan settlement nr. Jenin; the IDF returns fire, killing 1 Palestinian, wounding and arresting 2. Palestinians also fire an antitank missile at an IDF patrol nr. Rafah, causing no damage or injuries. In Hebron, 10s of Jewish settlers fr. Kiryat Arba (some reports say Avraham Avino) attack and threaten 10s of Palestinians, vandalize and attempt to break into Palestinian homes, seriously injuring a 12-yr.-old Palestinian girl. Some 50 Jewish settlers fr. Ramat Yishai attack a Palestinian home where a number of international peace activists are visiting; the IDF observes but does not intervene. Jenin; conducts arrest raids, house searches in al-Fawwar r.c. nr. Hebron; evicts 3 bedouin families fr. an area outside Hebron; begins to bulldoze land in Dayr al-Hatab that was confiscated on 3/11. Jewish settlers fr. Ramat Yishai severely beat a Palestinian shepherd grazing his flock nearby. The IDF reopens the Rafah crossing (closed on 12/12) to Palestinians entering Gaza as a gesture to Abbas for taking steps on security; fatally shoots a 14-yr.-old Palestinian carrying a toy gun in Tubas; fires on 3 Palestinian children walking nr. a Rafah mosque, killing a 2d 14-yr.-old Palestinian; cuts down an olive grove nr Salfit for road construction; conducts arrest raids, house searches in Bayt ‘Awwa, Bani Na‘im, Bayt Hanun, Sammu‘a nr. Hebron. Hamas fires an antitank missile at an IDF bulldozer in Bayt Hanun, injuring 3 IDF soldiers. DFLP mbrs. fire a missile at an IDF jeep nr. Khan Yunis, causing no damage or injuries.
