In the West Bank, Israeli forces distributed notices to residents in Yatta that Israel will seize 3,000 dunams (741 acres) of Palestinian-owned farmland in the area; and notified the municipality of Ya‘bad that Israel will seize 409 dunams (101 acres) of land. 10 Palestinians, including Khalida Jarrar, were arrested during late-night raids in and around Ramallah, Bethlehem, Tulkarm, and Nablus. Israeli forces also raided 2 homes in Ramallah belonging to alleged attackers and took measurements for punitive demolitions. U.S. ambassador to Israel David Friedman attended the opening of the Ariel settlement’s new medical school partly financed by American casino magnate Sheldon Adelson. Ambassador Friedman said at the opening, “A new medical school has opened in Samaria [the West Bank] . . . How many people had ever thought that those words would ever be spoken?
