Israeli forces shoot and kill a 13-year-old Palestinian boy and injure 2 others during a raid in Qabatiya. Israeli forces also shoot and injure 2 Palestinians during a raid in Tubas. In East Jerusalem, Israeli forces arrest 23 Palestinians in the Old City near the Haram al-Sharif compound. In Gaza, Israeli forces bomb Khan Yunis, Nuseirat refugee camp, Maghazi, and Dayr al-Balah, killing at least 82 people. Israeli forces also open fire at Palestinians waiting to receive aid at the Kuwait Roundabout in Gaza City, killing at least 17. Meanwhile, Israeli forces continue to raid and besiege al-Shifa Hospital. In Sakhnin, Deir Hanna, and Kafr Kanna, thousands of Palestinian citizens of Israel mark Land Day under the slogan “Stop the war on Gaza.” In Tel Aviv, Israeli police violently disperse Israeli anti-government protesters. In Lebanon, a UNIFIL peacekeeping foot patrol is bombed, wounding 4 UN personnel from Chile, Norway, Australia, and Lebanon; Israel denies responsibility. Israeli forces bomb Naqoura, Taybeh, Hanin, Tayr Harfa, Yarin, and Dhayra. More than 32,705 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces in Gaza, including at least 13,400 children and 8,900 women, and around 75,190 have been injured since 10/7/2023. At least 7,000 people are missing in rubble, including 1,700 children. 445 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces and settlers in the West Bank and East Jerusalem since 10/7/2023, including 112 children. More than 4,700 people have been injured. Israel reports that 1,139 Israelis and foreign nationals have been killed and 5,400 have been injured in Israel since 10/7/2023, including Israeli soldiers. In addition, 253 Israeli soldiers have been killed and 1,520 injured in Gaza since the ground invasion began on 10/27/2023. Over 1.93 million Palestinians, nearly 85% of the population of Gaza, have been displaced since 10/7/2023. There has been a complete electricity blackout in Gaza since 10/12/2023 due to the Israeli blockade. The Gaza Media Office reports that Israeli forces have killed more than 400 people and destroyed and damaged more than 1,050 homes in and around al-Shifa Hospital during the 13-day siege of the hospital. (AJ 3/30)

In the West Bank, Israeli settlers spray racist graffiti on walls and set vehicles on fire in Turmus ‘Ayya. Israeli forces shoot and kill 2 Palestinians and injure 3 others during a raid in Tulkarm refugee camp, an Israeli soldier is injured during the raid. Israeli forces also shoot and kill a member of the PA security forces near Beit Furik. In East Jerusalem, Israeli forces seal off the family home in Shu’fat of a Palestinian who was shot dead on 2/16 after allegedly killing 2 Israelis. In Gaza, Israeli forces bomb Gaza City, Khan Yunis, Dayr al-Balah, Rafah, Nuseirat refugee camp, and Beit Lahiya, killing at least 126 people. Israeli forces also fire tank shells at al-Amal Hospital in Khan Yunis. Israeli attacks render the Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis inoperative as an eighth patient dies due to the lack of power at the hospital. 1 Israeli soldier is killed in combat. PA prime minister Mohammed Shtayyeh addresses the Munich Security Conference, saying the PA and Egypt will not allow Israel to push Palestinians into the Sinai. Shtayyeh also says the PA is prepared to cooperate with Hamas to achieve national unity. The Israeli High Court of Justice dismisses a request for Israel to disclose the whereabouts of 62 Palestinians from Gaza who have been taken to Israel by Israeli forces and for them to be allowed to meet a lawyer. (HA 2/18)

The Israeli cabinet unanimously approves a declaratory decision to reject any unilateral recognition of the state of Palestine. Israeli war cabinet member Benny Gantz says Israel will limit the number of people entering the Haram al-Sharif compound during Ramadan. Channel 13 reports that the proposal was made by National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and approved by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The PA calls the decision “racist incitement against Palestinians.” The Supreme Fatwa Council of Palestine warns Israel of a “religious war” if Muslims are denied access to the compound during Ramadan. The Higher Arab Monitoring Committee says Ben-Gvir is organizing his own war against Palestinian citizens of Israel. Norway says an agreement has been reached on the transfer of PA tax funds from Israel to the PA via Norway. Norway will withhold the part of the tax revenue Israel considers is for Gaza. In the West Bank, Israeli settlers posing as soldiers abducted 2 Palestinian men from the Masafer Yatta area and vandalized Palestinian properties in Shaab al-Butum. Israeli forces injured 4 Palestinians in a drone strike in Nur Shams refugee camp. Israeli forces also shot and injured 3 Palestinians during a raid in Askar refugee camp. 18 Palestinians were arrested during late-night raids in and around Nablus, Deir Istiya, and Hebron. In East Jerusalem, Israeli forces shot and killed a Palestinian after he allegedly stabbed 2 Israeli settlers in the Mishor Adumim settlement. In Gaza, Israeli forces bombed Rafah, Nuseirat refugee camp, Dayr al-Balah, Khan Yunis, Maghazi, and Gaza City, killing at least 100 people, including University College of Applied Sciences president Dr. Said Al-Zubda and his family. 2 Israeli soldiers were killed in combat. In Syria, 3 suicide drones attacked a U.S. military base, causing damage. The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs said a large number of Palestinian prisoners in the Ofer Prison have experienced food poisoning after being given spoiled meals. Prisoners at Megiddo Prison reported frequent abuse, including assault and humiliations by Israeli guards. 2 prisoners have died at Megiddo since 10/7. The Israel Prison Service told Haaretz that it was aware of severe violence against prisoners at the Megiddo Prison. (HA 12/31; AJ 1/1)

The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics said 2023 was the deadliest year for Palestinians since the Nakba, saying at least 22,404 Palestinians have been killed since the beginning of 2023, including at least 22,141 since 10/7. 98% of the Palestinians killed were from the Gaza. The Israeli human rights organization Yesh Din said 2023 was the worst year for Israeli settler violence against Palestinians since 2006 when the group started monitoring. Israel had the highest rate of murders ever recorded in 2023 at 299, including 241 among Palestinian citizens of Israel, which is double the number of 2022. 92% of the homicides involving victims that were Palestinian citizens of Israel were unresolved. (HA 12/31)

Axios reported that Israel rejected a Hamas proposal for a new ceasefire. The proposal included the release of 40 captives and the removal of all Israeli forces from Gaza during its first phase. (AX 1/1)

Israeli foreign minister Eli Cohen claimed that Israel will allow ships to deliver aid from Cyprus to Gaza immediately. Under the agreement the aid would be inspected by Israel in Larnaca and shipped to Gaza. Later in the day Cohen swapped jobs with infrastructure and energy minister Israel Katz. Israeli finance minister Bezalel Smotrich said Israel would not allow 2 million Palestinians to live in Gaza after the war, saying it would benefit Israel if the number was 100,000 to 200,000 at the end of the war.
