For the 7th day in a row, IDF troops stationed along Gaza’s border open fire on Palestinian protesters, injuring 1 with live ammunition e. of al-Bureij r.c. Separately, the Egyptian authorities open the Rafah border crossing for passage into Gaza. In the West Bank, many schools, universities, shops, and other institutions in and around Bethlehem conduct a general strike protesting the IDF’s killing of a Palestinian in the area on 10/13. IDF troops clash with and violently disperse Palestinians protesting and throwing stones across the West Bank, injuring at least 12 Palestinians. Late at night, Palestinian youths set fire to Joseph’s Tomb nr. Nablus, causing damage. Meanwhile, the IDF conducts a raid in Nablus, sparking clashes with stone-throwers (1 Palestinian is injured); raids and house searches nr. Ramallah, Jenin, and Qalqilya, arresting 6 Palestinians.
